Along with the beautiful countryside, we’re very lucky to be situated in a bay so rich in marine life.
It’s not uncommon to find yourself surfing with dolphins or spot magnificent humpback whales just offshore.
Last week was one of those weeks with some humpbacks visiting and approaching very close to the shoreline.
Although I’ve been living in the area for a year now, and visiting for a couple of years, I’ve never managed to do a whale watching tour. I was lucky enough to do one in Maui though, and know how amazing it is. So if you’re visiting Byron in whale season, definitely consider a whale watching tour.
By the way, if you’re interested in seeing some whales, a tour is highly recommended – you can get right up close to the whales, and get some magnificent photos and video. Plus, being able to hear the whales is one of the most amazing experiences ever.
